Jimmy Swaggart is estimated to have a $350,000 a year salary. He and his family own a fleet of six Mercedes Benz cars. He owns three homes. Son Donnie is said to live in a $700,000 home. Not that this is much different from the lavish lifestyles of Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyers, Kenneth Copeland, Pat Robertson, Creflo Dollar (at least this guy is rightly named), T. D. Jakes, Morris Cerullo, Paul Crouch, Marilynn Hickey, etc., etc. ad nauseum. But Donnie seems to be keeping quiet about apparently divorcing his first wife, marrying someone else, and then divorcing her. Here is what someone claiming to be a former employee of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries has to say about the question "Is Donnie Swaggart Divorced?"
"Absolutely. In the four years I worked there Donnie Swaggart divorced two wives. Debbie in 2003 and Judy about three years later. No, I didn't see the divorce papers but I did see him with one wife who disappeared, then another wife shortly after who disappeared and hasn't been seen since. Even more bizarre is no one at that church dares to speak of it or question whether this slap-happy husband is qualified to shepherd anything. It would be the first step in facing the lie they are all living. As the Swaggart apologists are quick to point out Jimmy is preaching some parts of the word but families there are falling apart left and right, adultery among staff and congregation is rampant. Even the young son of the popular associate preacher, president of the Bible college, and star "anointed" singer of Jimmy's music program was recently busted getting high at a local drug house.
The flock is heavily armed with Jimmy's "new revelation" of the Cross, the same single-minded teaching and scriptures are preached over and over, every single service but the flock is starved for guidance in Biblical teachings applicable to every day family life. The Swaggarts rule their staff and emloyees with bullying, intimidation, and quickly threaten termination for any hint of a problem... no matter who is right or wrong. Opinions, individual thinking, even helpful suggestions are not tolerated and will bring quick scrutiny. The code among emloyees is do whatever it takes to avoid drawing attention for any reason, at any cost, right or wrong. The Swaggarts have hidden personal agendas and use the Gospel itself as their "sheep's clothing" and license to bully and intimidate the weak willed people who still work for them.It's truly an amazing deception that they have achieved to still get blinded followers to rally behind them. They brag every week from the pulpit with exaggerated and skewed numbers of what the ministry is accomplishing in gaining followers worldwide. Don't dare question the accuracy of it or ask for any kind of financial disclosure. It will be the last words out of your mouth on JSM premises. The sad thing is that even with all the millions of dollars they've spent recently in the attempt to rebuild the Swaggart power and fame (oops, I mean "spread the Word"), the congregation continues to shrink, alter calls are mostly the same old people year in-year out, many radio callers are just long time Swaggart followers simply reminiscing about how great Jimmy is/was. Meanwhile the ministry buildings are in shambles and ruins. It really seems to appear that God has the Swaggarts on a very short leash. And yes once again Donnie Swaggart, the appointed pastor and shepherd of "Family Worship Center" DID just recently divorce not one but two wives." I do not necessarily think that people should become rich off the ministry of serving God and spreading his good name, but that is their business and between them and God. We do not know what they and God have between them. In the end, if you believe, and I do, they will be judged by the Savior and my Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I give my tithes to my church weekly, to God. What the church and the leaders do with the money is between them and God. You see, our tithes is to God and God alone, and everyone has a day of judgement coming. So they can live a rich life style and have all the worldly possessions. I do my part and they can do their part. I like Jimmy Swaggart and he seems generally sincere of his faith. I am sure he sinned and made mistakes and that Jesus forgave him as he forgives us.

I am not here to Judge anyone because ( God is the Judge). I remember calling one of these major Christian television network one time to pray for my mother, who passed away from cancer a year ago. I have to say I'm very skeptical of some of these ministries, anyway....the woman that took my call showed absolutely no remorse. All she was interested in was how much money I could've donated to the ministry. Again, am leery of anyone who comes on television to collect money for whatever purpose. Am still wondering what happened to all the monies that were collected for the earthquake victims in Haiti from some of these religious and charitable organizations.....Like I said, God is the Judge and as the scripture says, He will bring every work into Judgment and every secret thing, whether evil or good....

He is now begging for donations so they can "upgrade" their studios and equipment so they can get "The message of the Cross" to more people. If this is his TRUE desire why does he not sell 2 of his 3 homes and donate a these proceeds plus a BIG part of his $350,000 yearly salary to this??? He keeps saying God has told him to do these "upgrades" so more people will get Gods message!!! If this is his TRUE desire and GOD told him to do this shouldn't(or wouldn't) he be willing to make these sacrifices????

The poem at the base of the Statue of Liberty was applied decades after the statue was erected in the harbor. It's a lie from the Left that we have to continue an immigration process. The Hispanic countries are given preference while a mere 17% per year from Germany and other countries with Scandanavians are not welcome. ReplyDeleteI have been a supporter of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries for many years and I am sure, like all of us, he and his staff are not perfect. It is very easy to criticize from a distance but impossible to be perfect or run a perfect organization. It is a responsability as christians to support the task of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
ReplyDeleteThis ministry preaches the word of God like no other church on earth. They only teach from the King James version which is a word for word translation from the original Greek & Hebrew texts and because of this it is the most reliable translation in existence. All other translations of the bible are word for thought, or thought for thought translations & they are usually very inaccurate because the human thought process can be corrupted very easily. JSM teaches the "message of the cross" doctrine because it's the only doctrine that the bible teaches from the very first word of genesis, to the last word of revelation. This doctrine which goes for every human being that has ever lived, proclaims the truth that if anyone desires to escape hell & live forever in heaven with God, that we must trust that Jesus Christ was sent to earth for one reason which was to die on the cross as a perfect sacrifice, thereby paying our debit of sin owed to God & the sin of the whole world. By believing this we have relationship with Almighty God though our relationship of belief & trust in His sons perfect existence on earth & the fact that his death on the cross satisfied the debt that we owed God. If you read the bible, you will read everything that I have just stated & you will understand that there is no other way to be saved & make it to heaven & escape a horrible hell that is unescapable once your are there. Ask God to forgive you of your sin & accept his only son which was born from a virgin. Tell God that you believe this & that you believe it's the only way that you can be saved. If you really believe it when your say it & you trust Jesus as your Lord & Saviour then your are saved by Gods amazing Grace & you have formed a relationship with God that will last for eternity as long as you believe singularly in Jesus Christ as your only hope for salvation.

ReplyDeleteI believe that it is a disgrace and sin to publically try to destroy someone's ministry like you are doing. I held it against him for the sex scandal for many, many years and then I found forgiveness for him. If Jesus forgives someone, who are we to not to forgive. We are all human and he was very embarrassed and humiliated to say the least. Half of his congregation walked out on him when he publically apologized for his sins. Satan knows the weaknesses of pastors and it is sexually immorality. I left my church back in 2003 because my pastor was on his way to the front before the morning service and he asked me if "we are going to see you in Playboy magazine?" I cannot go to a church when I have no confidence in him. I felt he was attracted to me and my late father-in-law told me several years before he died he could tell that my pastor was attracted to me, so it was not my immagination. Back to Jimmy Swaggart, you do not know his finances, his personal life or anything about him or his family. Some of these ministers are given cars, expensive clothes, watches etc. As for Donnie being divorced, his first wife was having an affair, his second wife could not get along with Frances and wanted a divorce and I understand he remarried his first wife. There were Biblical reasons for his divorces. Please act like a Christian if you are, and don't try to ruin someone else. It looks like the church is on it's way back.
ReplyDeleteJimmy not only once got caught with a prostitute, but twice. The first time he got caught was after he tried to expose an affair of another evangelist. He did not go to the evangelist in person & confront the brother because Jimmy Swaggart wanted to control the Assemblies of God. The AOG did not ban Jimmy Swaggart, but told him his punishment was to stay out of the pulpit for 1 year while getting counseling. Well that wasn't good enough for Jimmy. After 3 months he decided he was "well enough" to preach again, and pulled HIS church out of the Assembly of God's organization and went it alone. The big sob scene of "Father I have sinned..." was just a great act. Because less than 3 yrs later good ol' Jimmy was in California when he got caught AGAIN with another prostitute!

The Swaggart men like to preach against the "seed faith doctrine" & how those that preach and live by it are going to hell. However, on Friday, Feb. 15th, 2013, during their monthly Share-A-Thon, Donnie Swaggart told the television audience that he needed "30 people to step out in faith and plant a 1000 dollar seed and just watch how God gives it back to you". That IS the "seed faith doctrine". What hypocrites these people are. The only one that I truly feel has an inkling of what the one TRUE GOD wants is Jimmy's grandson Gabriel. But it won't be long until Grandpa & Daddy drag him down.

It appears to me they have 'added' to the word of GOD. And in RED yet. They have inserted/injected their own opinions, calculations and speculations right in the middle of the word of GOD and call it a BIBLE. Friends, this ought not to be. "For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book; If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book. REV 22:18
The expositors study bible is just that! It is for studying the scripture. Jimmy Swaggert is not adding to the scripture but explaining its meaning through his annointing by the Holy Spirit. Most of us have trouble understanding some of the verses in the Bible and he is explaining the true meaning to help those that are seeking the truth of the scripture.
DeleteYou shall know them by their fruit. If you are really a Christian, you would not be implying that a young man who sings for the Lord goes to a drug house, rather...you would pray for him. I agree with the others who say that Satan loves to destroy and tear down the character of those who are trying to make a difference in peoples hearts and minds for the better through a relationship with God. ReplyDeleteAnd is really nothing new. This message has always been at the very core of the Christian faith. Being, that Jesus is the only way to the father. For Jesus himself stated: I am the way. The truth, and the life. No one comes to the father, but by me. Jesus also stated: He who has seen me has seen the father. So all of you who are arguing to persuade others not to listen to Jimmy, his family, or anyone else who preaches from the word of God. I have this to say. I am more concerned with you than Jimmy, and his family with all their flaws, you so readily point out. Funny your actions are a lot like someone in the bible. Who the bible states stood before the throne of God accusing the brethren night, and day. Sound familiar anyone? Jesus also stated. By their fruits you will know them. If anything Jimmy's flaws and that of his family point out something else Jesus stated. For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. They as much as we are, in need of Gods forgiveness. But let's look at Jimmy, and his family not from a part of their life, but as a whole. Jimmy and his family have brought more people to the knowledge of Christ, and preached of Christ. More than any of you. And as far as what they earn, or keep or do with the funds. What are you jealous? Why are you so concerned? Do you not know Jesus also stated that a servant is worthy of his hire. Apparently some of you do not agree with the Lord. That's fine God is not going to force you into submission. He will let you make your decision concerning Him as well as others. Rather to believe or not. Or to forgive or not. The choice is yours. I leave you only with this advice. Peace, love, kindness, forgiveness, patient, and long suffering are God's attributes. How should yours be?
look at yourself and think. how good are you and everyone else on earth. the Bible says there is none good, no, not one. i will support my church because i do know where most of the money goes. jimmy may be ok, i don't know but i know it is hard to please everyone. all we can do is pray without ceasing. do the best we can do for we know not when we will die or when the rapture will happen. so think about where you are and how you live. don't look at other people.
